We're creating a world where young carers are understood, heard and supported.

Young carers are extraordinary. They go above and beyond to support and provide for their loved ones who face chronic mental illness, physical disability, or drug addiction. Their care comes in many forms – taking up responsibilities which often exceeds expectations of what a young person (aged 5 - 25) can and should be responsible for – be it emotional support, household management, or medical assistance.

We are about to undertake a project to listen, observe and deeply understand the lives of young carers. Throughout this research we will be focused on measuring the subjective well being of young carers to better understand their journey. We will translate these findings into new and innovative services that meet a carers needs.

Are you a young carer?

We are currently searching for young carers to take part in the Caring For Me project. If you’re aged 5 to 25 and provide care and support to a family member then you are one of the 380,000+ young carers in Australia. We aim to understand YOUR journey as a young carer. Be heard and make a difference!
